A shared passion for team building
AF Consulting started as a project between two friends with diverse backgrounds - one a senior manager in a leading global company, and one a legal and comms expert with a background in the European Institutions.
We quickly discovered that we had a common understanding that some of the very best training in a business environment is delivered through creative play, cooperative problem solving and practical exercises and simulations.
We would like to share this passion with you and to help you build your team capabilities.

Cath Howdle

Cath is a senior lawyer and comms specialist with an EU/EEA institutions background. She is an experienced team leader and coach who, like Andy, has a passion for empowering teams and their individual members.
Cath has developed an extensive toolkit for capacity building. She delivers coaching and feedback aimed at enabling clients to effectively deliver their messages to their chosen audience, whether in legal text, communications or as advocacy. Cath is also an experienced text reviewer and editor who can work efficiently in cooperation with a team to develop and spread these skills, and to internalise a team culture of precise and punchy drafting, and thoughtful, well-received feedback.
Cath can also help teams and organisations develop strategic approaches to ensure desired outcomes, and can help individual parts of an organisation connect the dots in order to achieve efficiencies. She is a sharp-minded analyst with a knack for pinning down the sources of difficulties and assisting team members to create appropriate and effective solutions.
With a theatrical background and as a qualified yacht skipper, Cath is particularly interested in the improvement of retention for learning outcomes through strategies involving practical, playful or unexpected delivery of information. She and her partner also work as developers and consultants for games, puzzles and escape rooms and she brings these experiences to bear for clients who are seeking a non-traditional route to learning.
